Leadership, Genuine, Meaningful and Productive

One of the best lessons I have learned is the impact and importance of leadership. It is so easy to identify dysfunctional leadership in a company (or of a governmental entity!). Many times, the common misconception is that the executives in the “ivory tower” sit around and relax, while the “workers” do all the work. Of course, happy and motivated employees are essential to a company (I still teach that in seminars that I conduct). But I have observed and learned that it is the leadership in an enterprise that makes the difference … and that is not exclusive to commerce.

I am an avid devotee of Right Action, and I believe it is the umbrella for everything worthwhile in life, in our endeavors and, in my opinion, a solemn responsibility of every human being. Power comes not from dictatorship but from respect, logic and compassion … all given by and returned to a quality leader. The substance of any situation is, of course, important … but what makes any enterprise function well, easily, profitably and with verve and passion is people working together. That is when Spirit is at its best, when respect and honor are not just words and when a truly great company shines in daylight and in darkness. For many years, I counseled and taught this very principle. I gave a seminar called “The Magic of People” in which I taught the value and wisdom of “people first.” It is the essence of leadership.

Vision is extending ideas, sometimes simple ideas, “outside the box” and creating a new, really new, thought. The person who conceived of eBay is a good example of this … they thought that the Internet had in it, as a part of its intrinsic nature, some characteristic that would fit some human need that was not yet conceived. They thought about many commonplace human endeavors and matched them up with Internet capabilities … and, yes, they came up with the activity “auction” and realized that the net was an ideal vehicle to carry that concept. This venture capitalist took the idea and translated it into action. It was a billion dollar idea!

Not to veer from the point here, it is essential for the leader to constantly be projecting, envisioning, visualizing … that is the root of entrepreneurial genius. Of course an action plan is required … but only after the leader has set the stage for the performance.

    Some say leadership is not just a simple thing but a talent and I think I would agree to that because there are some people that have a position of being a leader but does not really a leader, I mean some of the leaders does not lead properly and they don’t know how to lead. Many people should really take some trainings and must learned some leadership things and I also want to point out that I also believe that vision is extending ideas, sometimes simple ideas, “outside the box” and creating a new, really new, thought. Visualizing is always safe and always helpful.

    Genuine leadership and a good leadership not comes from the mouth but from the heart, a man that can control himself deserves to be a leader of others and we know that it is hard to control ourselves since there are things that can’t be managed and also it is true that the substance of any situation is, of course, important but what makes any enterprise function well, easily, profitably and with verve and passion is people working together. Teamwork is a pleasant tip of nature of us becoming one and becoming more powerful than what we are individually.

    Meaningful and productive leadership really makes sense and means a lot to any company because it can lead to a progress and development to any company. Every company needs a productive employees and no one will argue to that and also every company always needs leaders for their people and that is why it is so important that every company should have meaningful and productive leaders.

Being a leader is not being a boos and far way too opposite from being a boss and that means being a leader is leading its people with heart and things that will be done must always be from the heart.     I totally understand the misconception and misunderstanding here “any times, the common misconception is that the executives in the “ivory tower” sit around and relax, while the “workers” do all the work”, the executives in most of them they have the most stressful jobs because their position is so big and a big position means a big responsibility also since a big part of company is in your hands.

    Such a cool line “That is when Spirit is at its best, when respect and honor are not just words and when a truly great company shines in daylight and in darkness”, I am really amazed and look at myself while reading this and I read this for 5 times already I think. Respect and Honor should always be implemented and should always be used because in times of bad times these two things will help you and these two things will undoubtedly make you a better person.

    Leadership is one of the skills in the business industry right now that is so much appreciable and an advantage also towards making more productive works. In fact many schools now are offering leadership seminars and also offering courses on leadership programs. Anyway I am having a lunch with my friend this noon and I think it will be so much and though this is not related I still want to share it because I am so excited having lunch with her.

    We all know that every company has its own vision and goal which is always been the target for everyday struggle or everyday happiness of every company and in order for a company to reach their goal and by that they must have employees that are good and well oriented on the things and tasks that they should do and lastly they must have a good cooperation and of course a good leader on each team. I think you have here a very good example why leadership is very important and I have learned many things here. Nice article.

    Leaderships is indeed very important in making a profitable and productive business because leadership is “organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal”. The leader may or may not have any formal authority. Studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, function, behavior, power, vision and values, charisma, and intelligence, among others.     No company can be underestimated easily if that company have good leaders inside it. The key of successful business is good cooperation and of course good leadership. I can see some companies that are still flying on top of others because of their good leaders and also their members that are willing to work fully and willing to give their best fully. I am pretty amazed by those people who really give their best because they know it’s good not just for themselves but also for others.

    Not only for the above commenters but also for me, making genuine and productive leadership is a must must must. Every company needs good leaders to lead their people and to guide the company on its goals. Many leaders tend to have hard time with their job because some of them really don’t act as a leader and they only do stuff that they think is bossy which they find or they define as leader. I hope the concept of being a leader and being a boss is separated because there is really a line between the two and I just want to clarify and make it clear.

    Leadership can be learned. We all have leadership potential, just as we have some ability to sing or run. Some people may be better than others, but each of us has a starting point to build on with training and practice. You do not have to be officially designated as a leader of a group to be an effective leader.Leadership is a process that helps a group to achieve its goals. Leaders and group members can mutually influence each others ideas.

    Leadership is just a talent but though some said that leadership is made. It has a point that leadership is made but it takes a lot of effort to be a leader and to have a skill of leadership. I am not a leader type and I don’t have talent about leadership but as a student I want to learn how to be a good leader and a leader that surely can handle any situation and can lead its followers well.

    As a business leader, I found that one of the scariest things to do was to give your people the freedom to make mistakes. While mistakes allow individuals to learn and grow, they can also be very costly to any company. A great leader found ways to allow their people to take these risks.

    leaders really played a big role in a team specially in doing task that needs to be done as early as possible. leaders should also empower members to test their skills, knowledge and attitude and by that members will be aware on their capabilities.     Making a good vision towards good leadership is quite helpful. I believe that if goal is quite planned and really have a good vision, then it will eventually be reached and be successful. I have so many plans right now and though it is hard to get them I still have hopes that I can reach them and make them successful. Genuine leadership is quite handy in many ways if we will talk about making a good development in a company. It is quite hard to have people like that in a company that is why you should hire an experienced people for jobs that are just like that.

    I smiled while reading this one on the above paragraph “Many times, the common misconception is that the executives in the “ivory tower” sit around and relax, while the “workers” do all the work”, this is also what I always been hearing around my place if they talk about rankings in a company but they don’t know that the higher the rank the more stressful since you have bigger responsibility. I am also aiming for a higher rank but I can’t stay silent hearing to those people who does not know what they are saying. It is undeniable that there are sometimes that you have lesser work with them because sometimes you need to take a rest for hard and heavy works.

    To lead a business in a company is quite a big thing to do and it takes a lot of knowledge and experience to a lead a business in a company. You have there some good information about making leadership genuine, meaningful and productive. If you have good leaders on your company you will of course increase your sales and your profit into your company since the one that is most responsible of increasing sales are the leaders except you.
